Our Story
Foundation and Early Focus
Enel Viento's journey began with a clear vision: to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy, particularly in the sun-drenched landscapes of Andalusia, Spain.
Founded in 2000 by Karl Khevenhüller, Johannes Trauttmansdorff and Andreas Dangl as Luz de Viento S.L. (LDV), our initial focus was on the key fundamentals of project development. Four years later, in 2004, Enel Viento S.L. was established as a capital corporation, dedicated to the erection and financing of wind farms, while LDV continued its vital role in development and engineering.
Commitment to Collaboration
From our earliest days, we recognized the power of collaboration. We proudly joined the National Association of Renewable Power Producers (APPA) and were instrumental in co-founding the Andalusian Renewables Association APREAN, now known as CLEANER. This commitment to industry partnerships has been a cornerstone of our success.
Growth Through Strategic Partnerships
Following the departure of Andreas Dangl and Johannes Trauttmansdorff, a decisive moment came in 2004 when we entered into a strategic alliance with the Spanish project development company Eolica Navarra /(GRUPO ENHOL). This partnership fueled our rapid growth and enabled us to develop and operate wind farms with significant installed capacity throughout Spain.
Later, starting in 2015, we partnered with FIM/Gresham House for the erection of wind farms in Scotland, demonstrating our ability to expand our operations internationally. Our operational philosophy revolves around strong joint ventures. We believe in the power of local expertise and collaborative growth, forging partnerships with industry leaders such as Enhol (Spain), ImWind (Austria & Italy), and Green Elephant (India). These alliances allow us to leverage diverse strengths and expand our impact globally.
